I am changing from a 68 shifter that uses a cable to a 67 shifter that uses a lever or rod. Does anyone know of a conversion kit available or what hardware I would need to do this the right way. My manuals are not real clear on the hardware needed. I will need to buy the connecting rods and linkage since I do not have them. Thanks

Classic Industries sells conversion rods originally designed to switch from powerglide to TH350 or 400. It should fix you right up. Give them a call and tell them what you're doing. They'll be glad to help. 800-854-1280

One of the techs at Classic Industries told me that because of the difference between the 67 and 68 there is no way to use a 67 shifter that uses a rod in place of a 68 shifter that uses a cable. Anyone agree or disagree.

I would really like to use this 67 shifter because I have the console to go with it. Thanks

I may have a extra shifter, but I have converted it to be used with a 700R4. Send me a email if you are interested. Jerry
