I replaced my filler neck recently but when I accelerate hard or take a turn fast, gas still leaks out from the cap. Will a "quality reproduction" fix this? Has anyone bought a RS cap from Ground Up?
Do most people keep the steel cable on the gas cap? How do you keep the steel cable from scratching (more like gouging) the paint?

When I replaced my leaking gas cap with one from Rick's it stopped the leak.

Do you not have a problem with the cable touching the paint?

I cut the cable that came with the cap that I ordered from Rick's. To me it had disaster written all over it as far as the paint is concerned.

I haven't had a problem with the stock RS gas cap cable chipping the paint on mine. Do you have it indexed correctly?

I bought a GM replacement cap for my 69Z that is supposed to be vented yet each time I remove the cap, I hear a huge vacuum release as I twist off the cap. Is this how it should be? Sure doesn't seem right.
