My 69 has a space saver spare, Im not sure if it came original in the car. It looks correct but I have no books with codes for a space saver spare. It is a 69 date K-1-9 with a code of UA and the tire is a BF Goodrich F/78/14. Is this correct for a 350CI 69 SS? Thanks for the help!

Nope, it's not a space-saver (N-65) setup; the space-saver was a special tire that was deflated on a special rim and had a pressure bottle to inflate it when needed - if you have an A.I.M., you'll see it in the option section under N-65. The F78-14 is an ordinary production tire of the era, although that size wasn't used on any '69 Camaro.

Thanks for the reply John, It is without a doubt a space saver spare, It says Space saver spare temporary use only right on the tire. It has a 69 date also, im just not sure if it is correct or original to my car? It also has what appear to be two valve stems? Does the original tire inflator take a special valve stem? The tire has never been inflated, it is unused and in NOS condition. Although the tire looks like it would never inflate to the demensions of a normal tire I agree F78-14 sounds huge. Thanks again for the help guys.

OK, I thought from your post it was an inflated tire, not the space-saver that comes collapsed; sounds like it's the real deal. Dunno about the two valve stems - I'm not familiar with them. graemlins/beers.gif

John - Jeremiah got info on the yenko site that shows it a '79 not '69 inflatable...

While we are on the subject of SpaceSaver Spares;
I noticed the pricing of the RPO-N65 Option varied by your vehicles Wheel/Tire combo - did the size of the SpaceSaver vary also or were they all about F70 size for the early cars?

Thanks for the help JohnZ, turns out it is a 79 date not a 69 as I stated. I will keep my eye out for a correct spare.
