I am a 69 SS 350/300 Camaro owner. I recently installed an Engle EP 20 cam. I have also installed a massaged distributor with HEI. I set my timing at 31 deg @ 3000 RPM, adjusting the Holly 650 lean then back out 1/4 turn. It does'nt perform as I had hoped. Also, should mention it has stock intake & no headers. Getting it to sound good and run right at the same time is a problem. Any good timing tips? I've never had other than stock cars before. Carl

you need to adjust your carb using a vacuum gauge or at least a tach.....u failed to mention what u did to the dist....have u checked the entire timing curve...initial should be good around 10 deg or so....could be all the advance is coming in too soon...

P.s. about 36 degrees total timing without the vaccuum advance will probably work better
