I just bought a 1997 camaro, 3.8 liter 6 cyl, auto. when i hit the brake with the lights off both sides work, but when i turn on the parking lights when i hit the brake not only does the brake light not come on but the parking light goes out. I was wondering if anyone had any idea what was wrong.

And another thing, it didnt come with a book. There is a button on my dash that says SGS, and i was wondering if anyone had any idea what it was or did

Welcome to the best site on the web. You have a bad ground on the light that goes out. As for the SGS I really don't know.

SGS is second gear start
it overrides first gear, great for in the snow
didn't know they had that option that far back
