I would like to do a title/registration search on my 68 camaro to verify mileage and maybe contact previous owners. Does anyone have any idea how I go about doing this?

I think it is difficult to search under that old of a VIN scheme.

Gordy there a few things to consider. One, not all states will do a title search. I did get a title search done in North Carolina for less than $10. But one of the stipulations that I had to agree to was that I DID NOT contact the former owners  . Just call or write your DMV in the state you live in and ask. It was that simple for me. graemlins/thumbsup.gif good luck, Kevin

As Jus4funn68 said you can get info from some states. Most will charge you for it and when you get it the names and addresses of the previous owners will be blacked out or you will have to sign an agreement to not contact the previous owners because of the privacy act. In addition, you may run into a problem with mileage because many states do not require mileage reporting for vehicles over ten years old. Usually the only info you may find is where in a particular state your car has been. With the age of our cars, many of them have been in registered in a number of states. No one state has the registration info from another. I did get lucky with mine and found the original dealership that it was sold from. They did not have any of the sales records left so it was just a novelty to have the info. Good luck
