Can anyone provide any feedback either good or bad on two post garage lifts similar to these:

I'm considering going 50/50 with a friend and installing one in the garage that I rent and share with him.
Thanks!!

I purchased the MX9A two years ago. I now wonder how my wife talked me into buying our dining room set first! It's easy to assemble and is very sturdy, she parks her car under my Camaro every night. Be prepared with 3 strong friends to unload it off the truck (1,500 lbs) Also be aware of your overhead garage door. I needed to modify the tracks to follow the cathedral roof line. You will need to change out the springs with heavy duty ones. Good luck!

I've been using this 9000# Hydra-lift for about 3 years now. It's used many times daily in the business I'm in. I can lift anything up to a 1-ton Dually.
The main benefit to me is the totally hydraulic operation.
No cables, chains or pulleys.

Try www.mohawklifts.com (http://www.mohawklifts.com) They are made out of heavier material than alot of other lifts.

Doug,
We had a Challenger 7500 Lb two post in our last shop and I loved it. My only advice, no matter which one you purchase...is to have it installed by the local factory rep. They don't charge that much and the piece of mind is well worth it.

Kevin, my Hydra-lift 2009 was $3990.
That was delivered, set up, and wired. I also highly recommend a pro do the install, in my case it was an extra $200.

Make sure your concrete is thick enough to support the two-post lift. They require more than a standard slab. Also, make sure you have enough ceiling height. A car roof is not as strong as a ceiling.
