The one that had a saracastic ring I really like the 1BG EGO.

I really like 1BAD Z. I think that will be my second choice on Friday, I think I will try to get away with 1BADAZ Z, I cant rememeber if its 7 letters and a space here in KY, if not I will try 1BDAZ Z. :D

John,

Is that a 308 in the upper right corner?

Rich,

I for one don't like to advertise what I do, when I am not working. I wear jeans and t-shirts, just like everyone else.
I guess that the docs that use the vanity plates are just proud of the fact that they spent 11+ years of post graduate education and sometimes HUNDREDS of thousands of dollars in student loans in order to be where they are today.

My 2 cents,

Gary (MD)

Gary, If you don't like advertise what you do, why do we see "MD" twice in your post ?

Well Ron, before you make more smart-aleck remarks, let me explain a couple of things to you. First of all, I had used the handle "Mange" when I played games online for the past ten years or so. Recently, in the past couple of games that I have played, someone had swiped the name...so I had to modify it (by adding the MD...most ppl just think I am from Maryland).

NEXT, I put the (MD) after my name in the above post just to let him know that I was a doc, and that my point of view was coming from a doc's perspective.

I DON'T have a vanity plate in RL, NOR do I dress/act like a doc when I am not at work. (That was my point. I don't personally know ANYONE from this forum).

I hope this explains it for you. I like someone making a smart-aleck remark to me just about as much as the next guy. If it was an innocent mistake, then that's cool. If you were just picking at me, then take your trolling elsewhere bud.

Gary, it wasn't meant to be smart-aleck; your forum name just seemed to contradict what you were saying. I didn't think that you were from Maryland since your signature says that you're from WV.

And by the way bud, I've been "trolling" around here a couple more years than you have, and I've never had a problem with anyone here; I still don't as far as I'm concerned. Nice talking to you.

Ron,

Like I said, I was talking about in my real-life, not my 'web-life' lol. No hard feelings bro.

Oh yeah, and like I said, the 'trolling' part was only if you were intentionally picking at me. Since you weren't, it's all good. The 'Maryland' part is from online games...no profiles when you are online. I fully realize that there is a profile here hehe. But this is the nick that I use for everything now.

When I had my '69 Z, my plate was 1NASTZ, now I have a '69 RS/SS, and the plate is 1NAST69. Just another idea. Hey John Z, Nicely filled garage you got there. ;)

I've come across some plates like:

XYXYX and L1L1L1

with the theory being that it's harder for police to read the plate if you get in to trouble with the law, not that any one here would do such a thing. I did come across a sport bike with a variation of the XYXYXYX and it was real hard to read from a distance. Of course since there's not a great number of our cars still running around, I doubt it would be much help!
A different take on a vanity plate...

Rons68, "Doc"

I never meant to pick on you personally; and as long as you "don't act like a doctor" you OK in my book. BTW what does a doctor act like? graemlins/clonk.gif

I think that was the point that I was making.

I trully understand that doctors take on more in their life than most of us can imagine; trust me one of my childhood friends is just finishing his residency right now and I am "34" !! He is a really grounded guy who tells me stories of these E-GO's that walk around the hospital like Sadaam Hussen barking out orders to the staff and treating people like they are just a name...... sorry but that is just BULL-CHIT in my book!

The three professions that I feel are underappreciated as a whole are #1 Teachers #2 Children Service #3 Police #4 Doctors, but the Doctors get comphensated for it; the other three get the bone! Two of them have people that I greatly admire on a personal level, and the other two.... well ??

I guess I have a personal "thang" with PhD, MD, DO, DDS, "BS" .... I had a doctor not long ago that was a really cool guy... never had a problem with him until one day when I was signing my paperwork in his office and one of the nurses asked me if she could "talk to me about something".... I thought OK... I hope I'm not terminal.. She then asked me if I could please refer to the Doctor as "Doctor" not by his first name as I had been for the past year or so. Well did the Mighty Doctor ever give me a title like "Mr" ........ hell no!

From then on when I "interview" a doctor I ask them if they have a problem with me calling them "Stu" instead of "Doctor Pidasso".

A title means absolutely nothing to me if the guy is an idiot!... Well I guess that makes him Dr. Idiot.

Don't get me started on Cops!!
