Ive got a 68 camaro, every time fill the car fuel leaks down the lip of the fuel tank and onto the ground. I cant tell where the fuel is leaking from, im guessing where the neck connects to the tank. My question, has anyone had this problem, how do i fix it? Also, when I accelerate fuel spills out of the tank if it is full.

There is a rubber sleave between the tank and filler neck on 67-68 Camaros. This sleeve deteriorates over time. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

hmmm.... I got that leak too... with a new repro tank, sender, locking ring, and gasket... took it apart again, put it back together... it still leaks. hmmm... that sleeve looks good on mine, not rotten or anything... but the next time I fill up, I'll take the license plate off and take a peak... always assumed it was the sender

Could it be a split or fault in the seam of the top and bottom halves of the tank itself? The leak could actually be on the back side of the tank and "flowing" around the lip and dripping off at a low spot. Do you get the leak if you fill the tank up less than half full or so? Just don't use a lighter to look for the drip! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

the hose connecting the filler neck and the gasket were both bad, both were leaking.

Thanks for the help
