My 68 is missing a lot of the chrome trim. But it does have the belt reveal moldings. So I was thinking about converting it to an RS because I really like the hidden headlights. Has anyone done the conversion and bought one of the kits that the vendors sell? How well did it work?

Not for a 68, but I installed a RS kit from Classic Ind. for my 69. I am very happy with it, everything works with the exception that the left door opens and closes slower then the right. pics of it are here.
