: Window foggin up
tyler mckee Dec 5th, 03, 08:23 PM Windows always fog up in my car, with the Heater core out, it takes a while to get rid of it.
I know rain-x makes an anti-fog product, anyone else know of any other anti-fog products, or an old method. I heard shaving cream works good from a friend.
DanBnis Dec 6th, 03, 01:39 AM Fog is caused by water vapor. There has to be a sourse. Is the windshield leaking? Is there a hole in the floor?
CFunK Dec 6th, 03, 10:39 AM Tyler,
I am in the same situation (no heater core and fogging) but the source of my fogging windows is ME. With the air temp outside cooler than the inside of the car my windows tend to fog from just my body heat.
The Rain-X No Fog product works well for me.

The Rain-X No Fog product works well for me. I washed all the outside windows and rain-x'd them. Then did the indide and use the rain-x no fog stuff. I'll see how it works tonight i guess.
Everett#2390 Dec 8th, 03, 02:10 AM Get a hair dryer to plug into the cig lighter socket, wave dryer across windshield. Don't laugh, it works, especially on older VW Beetles.
Codi Dec 8th, 03, 06:29 AM For what it's worth, using shaving cream on a bathroom mirror eliminates fogging of the mirror. You may try it on the car. Just wipe on and wipe off. Cream on.........cream off.
TEAM CANADA Dec 8th, 03, 07:42 AM :D If your windows are fogging up, thats a good thing :D ;) tongue.gif
novaderrik Dec 8th, 03, 08:42 AM head to Wal-Mart or wherever andget one of those 12 volt auxilliary heaters that plug into the lighter.use that to keep the windows clear. hey, it might work.
either that, or just put a heater in the thing. the factory standard heater weighs what- 10 pounds tops?
CFunK Dec 8th, 03, 12:44 PM Oh, I agree the factory heater is light BUT installing a new heater core is a PITA.

Scoop69RS-SS Dec 10th, 03, 06:44 AM Armour All will put a slight fog at the base of your windshield. Do you have this product on your dashboard?
Rick.
Vic_68 Dec 11th, 03, 01:22 PM I had a leak around the rear window it let in enough water to pool under the rear seat and with the mufflers under the floor it can get pretty hot.
Steve W Dec 13th, 03, 08:33 PM Vic,
Sounds like your car was a rolling steamroom!
