DZ 302? how to identifiy, what should the tag code be? 4 wheel disc brakes? rear factory sway bar? trans type or differental type? I am starting today to reasearch this. Thanks

Depends-If- Los Angeles built or Norwood built. Los Angeles built cars did not have an X code on the trim tag(for more on X codes do a search on this site). If Norwood built-starting about 2nd week on Dec.1968 an X code was stamped into the trim tag, before that time no X code on Norwood cars. Here's a little to info to start with--
1969 Z28 should have DZ stamp on engine, power front disc brakes, 4 speed muncie, exhaust bracket on rear driver side(outside) frame behind rear wheel, dual exhaust,no AC, there is alot of info on here to help you-just do a search for -real Z28- 69 Z info- etc, you will find all you need. Tom
P.S.get the Vin#, trim tag numbers, any other info you can get-post all the info and numbers here and the guys will decode everything to help you out
also see camaros.org for more info

I would try to do a couple of things regarding the potential purchase. Buy a copy of Jerry MacNeishes 69 Z-28 reference book and devour it, figuratively. Many references have errors, but Jerry is well versed and his book shows and tells it like it is. Try to find someone on this or other lists who knows Z-28's and take them with you to view the car.It is always a good idea to take another person to help you look the car over. If you live in Texas I would be happy to help. Join the local Camaro Club if there is one. As the previous post indicated, do LOTS of research, and consider posting the cars info. Use the tables on the different lists, and do searches for X-33, X-77, Z-28, 302, etc. And, good luck!

It is also a great idea to read all you can about '69's on the Camaro Research Group site.
