I have a 69 Camaro with a 427 ZL1 motor with 500 plus horse power and a 3:73 rear axle. I want a 5 speed so I can cruise on the highway. Any input would be a great help. Thanks

Richmond wouldn't help at all as the fifth gear is still 1:1. The factory later model five speeds aren't nearly strong enough. The TKO would handle the power and is a four speed with a 33% overdrive in fifth. Easy swap, I really liked the one I had. The 3.27:1 first gear allows you to run 2.73-3.31:1 rear gears for cruising and still has great torque multiplication for acceleration from a dead stop. Chris |
