I'm trying to install my vacuum modulator line for a turbo 400 and 396/325. The Assembly Manual shows this line has a bracket atached and bolts to one of the transmission housing bolts. My new line does not have a bracket attached. Can someone explain how this line is suppose to be tied down? Do I need a tie down bracket or does it just flop. (Flopping doen't seem correct.) If it needs a bracket< where can I get it?

It should be bolted down. If it is a steel line, you can fit the line in place and make a section of flat stock to bolt to one of the b/housing bolts and have it welded together for future install.

If the line is stainless steel, you can make a section flat stock and JB Weld it together, or have it welded together.

If you're not worried about correctness, you could just zip tie it to the dipstick tube.

Zip tying has crossed my mind. I just never like the way that looks. Can someone post a picture of the way the line looks on top of engine. I'd like to get a feel for how the line sits in the engine bay.
