What are your thoufghts on a 200R4 out of my 84 hurst olds? It was redone byFB transmissions. things done are: rsr unit replace front pump replace direct drum install new friction steels new borgwarner band H.D. pump kit new valve body recalibration jet. this tranny was done 4 years ago. but only drove car maybe 2000/2500 miles if that. comes with a FB converter that was made to give a little more stall and handle that tranny. It was a freddy brown tranny. Not sure what that means though...

Thoughts on what it is worth. Will it be a direct replacement for my powerglide?

I think I heard the newer ones were better, but with the rebuild is it worth like $500.00 or so?

Not sure what engine was in an 84 Hurst Olds.
If it's a Buick, Olds or Pontiac (BOP) engine the tranny probably won't bolt up to a Chevy unless the bellhousing has both bolt patterns.

you'll need to check... many BOP's of that era had chevy engines anyway, and lots of the transmissions had both bolt patterns. If it'll fit, it'll be a great swap for a pg

The Hurst/Olds of the 80's had 307's (pretty much a dog of a motor), but I don't believe they were a Chevy 307.

The 307 in the Oldsmobile is an Olds. engine. The 200R4 has BOP and Chevy bolt patterns. They have 12 or 14 bolt holes around the belhousing.I can count one tomorrow to be sure. The Hurst , 442 and Monte SS trans. have a different govenor and valve body for higher and firmer shifts.

Here is a link to a thread where I posted pictures. It actually has 10 bolt holes plus 2 for the locator dowels.
