I am going to sell my TH400 tranny now that I have the 700R4 installed. It has a shift kit installed and probably has less than 5k miles on it. There is nothing wrong with it. It will include the convertor as well. I already have several potential buyers but I have not idea what it is worth. When we drained the fluid to remove it, the fluid came out looking brand new.
Any ideas on how much it is worth? Not looking to sell it here just get an idea on value.

What converter is in it? That will make a difference in price.

I believe that it is a stock convertor. Do not know what stall.

Randy, I'd price it a little higher then that if I was you. Maybe 450-500. They're not groing on trees, smile.gif .

Back in the day, you could pick up a junk 400 for about $50 and a rebuild was another $100 on top of that. But considering how rare they are by today's standards, I'd tend to agree with Mark. I don't know if they are worth $500 or not though. Price places like TCI, B&M, and local shops. Consider that someone would probably opt for a name brand unit if the price is too high. You should be able to get 75% of fair market value.
