I'm putting a TH350 in my '67 . It originally had a Powerglide. Will the crossmember work? It seems like the tranny is tucked up pretty tight against the floorboard. I bought the car without a motor or trans so I don't have any frame of reference as to how much clearance there should be. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yes the powerglide crossmember is the same as the 350 as well as the driveshaft

You're gonna need some parts from http://shiftworks.com/camaro.htm#67camaro in order to complete the swap. The shifter linkage at the tranny is different as is the shifter lens which adds the extra gear.

If you want a brand new, still in the box TCI street fighter 10" converter let me know. I have one and will let it go cheap. Cost me over $300.00 last fall. I went to a 5 speed.

I just finished a PG to TH350 swap last month. This was my first major upgrade & 1st time to change out a tranny. It wasn't too bad. The hardest part was changing out the u-joints while I had the driveshaft out....those dirty little needle bearings kept falling out...

I used the shiftworks conversion bracket kit also with no problems.

Otherwise,I'm glad I did the swap. There is a noticable difference in performance when going from a PG to a Th350. smile.gif

Good luck,

When I bought my Firebird someone dropped in a Chevy 350 and a TH350. The car orginally had a 326 and a Glide.

I can tell you this, the rear bolts on the pan are a PAIN in the arse to get at. I cut the lip off the crossmember on the pan side and then welded up the seam. Access was a little better.

I'm about to do the same swap on my 68 Camaro. I just might fab a xmember this time for easy access.
