I'm going to replace the trans cooler lines on my 68. It has a small block and a T350 trans. They are the pre bent lines. Anyone have any tips on how to make this go as smooth as possible? I realize that I will probably have to do a little bending here and there but I would like to know of any problem areas I might run into. By the way I have dynomax full length headers on it as well. Thanks in advance. Jim

The only hint I could give is this - if you're having a difficult time making the connection(s) at the trans, removing the crossmember and lowering the rear of the trans helps a lot. If you need to do this, don't forget to remove your distributor cap. You'll probably have to disconnect the exhaust as well. Hopefully you'll be able to make those connections without going to all this trouble.

GM used a clip to anchor the lines near the front of the engine utilizing an oil pan bolt - a good idea.

BPOS, Thanks for the tip. I agree, hopefully I won't need to drop the trans down.

if you don't drop the tranny down, take extra special care in threading the cooler lines into the transmission. They are a nightmare to do and easily crossthreaded.
