I tiped my trans up on the converter to look at bottom and fluid ran out a hole near the top drivers side. Is this hole supposed to be plugged? I'm going to put back into car this weekend (I hope), and would like to know if it should have a bolt in it.
Thanks guys, Jim

What kind of transmission is it? I'm having trouble visualizing what you're describing. The only thing that comes to mind are test ports on the side of the tranny. For example, on a 700R4, there is a pressure test port above the shift lever on the driver's side. Could that be what you're looking at? If so, there should be a fine threaded plug installed there.
If the hole is near top center, then there is a vent hole there. Some have a short piece of tubing installed, but most have a little mushroom cap to keep the bugs out and allow gases / oil to escape as needed.

Sorry, it's a TH350, and yes, the hole is near top left center.
Thanks, where would I find such a cap or tube?
