I read that the 73-74 8.5''rear ends are the same dimensions as the 67-69 Camaros,My ? is what years did they make the Vinturas and if they made years later than 74 then are they the same dimensionsas the 73-74 models. The reason I asked a friend of mine said he knew where a 76 model was and I was wandering if it is an 8.5'' and is it the same dimensions as the 73 -79 Novas and the 73-74 Vinturas so as to fit my 68 Camaro. Thanks Camaro BOB

Ventura was Pontiac's X-body (Nova equivalent) from 71 to 77. Because the 8.5 didn't start showing up in Novas until 1972, I assume 71s and some 72 Venturas had the BOP 8.2.

In 75 or 76, the Novas started having the 7.5 10-bolt as a possible rear, so it is possible that the 76 your friend told you about could be either and 8.5 or the weaker 7.5.

There is an excellent spotter guide online at
