Hi,
I'm looking for a 4 speed auto for my car. A seller posted a few pictures supposed to be a 200R4. Can anyone tell me what it is? I think it's something else, but what is it?
The pictures are on my hobbystage site.
Thanks for helping me out.

It looks like a 700 R4, the 200 4R uses a 1 piece tranny case, no bolt on rear tailshaft housing, all 1 piece.
The 200 4R also has a large boat of a pan.

RUN AWAY!
One Big HUGE problem with that trans... the Bellhousing appears to be 60 deg V6 Bolt Pattern, and it will NOT bolt to a Chevy V8 or I6.
That appears to be a 700R4 from a 2.8, or 3.1 Camaro or S-10 or something similar.

Here is a link to a site that hlps identify trannys by pan shape.

Is the 200 4R and the 200R4 the same trans? Also, according to that webpage noted above, they note application to Buicks and Olds. What about the Chevy pattern we all need? Is it a different trans or am I missing something?

The correct name is TH2004R, although it is often called a 2004R. AFAIK, the 200's all have a universal bolt pattern that fits Chev, Buick, Olds, Pont and Cadillac. (I could be mistaken though)
Here is a picture of the bolt pattern, and one of the pan.

If I look at BPOS's photo of the pan it's complety different. The photo on my site has the looks of a 700R4. I wasn't aware that the bolt pattern of 700r4's and 200r4's for V6's and v8's were different. So this one will not fit my 327, too bad.
Thanks for helping me out.

BPOS is running an aftermarket deep pan, its deeper but is still a 200 4R tranny pan.
