I need to swap out an axle and replace the fluid this weekend and I wanted to pick up the fluid on the way home. Does anyone know the fluid capacity for the rear?

Vintage 68 Oct 1st, 04, 07:55 AM They take about 4.5 Pints or a little more than two (2) of the regular Quart size bottles of Gear Oil. Two Qt. bottles of Oil and a bottle of GM Posi-Additive usually gets me right to the bottom of the fill plug. click Oct 1st, 04, 07:59 AM Yep about 2 qts is plenty without dripping all over and stinking up the shop. smile.gif |
