Does anyone know where I can find out what the stall speed is from an 87 Camaro Z/28 with a 700R4? I just bought a 700R4 w/converter and cannot find out what the stall is on it. Trying to decide if I need a new one or not.

in drive, hit the brakes and throttle, at the point where the car must roll that is the stall speed.
if its a standard converter, i think its like 1200 stall
if i were u i would go for a 2000 thats much better during accelaration and also on the freeway

Since the tranny is sitting on the floor in my garage I was looking for another way to find out. I would like to find out the stall before putting it in my car.

swap in an s-10 converter, stalls around 2k and is pretty cheap
