I hope this is the right forum for this question. Has anyone installed the V2Matic shifter in a console car (1st gen). Can you give me any helpful info or pitfalls to lookout for. Thanks

Not sure if this was specific to me or not, but I ran into a problem with getting the shifter to properly engage 1st gear. Seemed when the cable pulled on the metal piece (attached to the gear selector on the tranny) it would hit interference with the oil pan.

Let me know if you find something similar.
