Can a mustang tremec be used with a mcleod chevy bellhousing or is the trans itself different? Thanks in advance. SS

The internals are nearly all the same - but, generally the Ford trans is longer overall and the shifter location in farther back.
The Ford trans also uses different input and output splines. The GM trans has 26 Input and 27 Output - the Ford has 10 Input and 31 Output.

Try - http://www.keislerauto.com/cgi-bin/discus/discus.pl & http://www.rsgear.com -for more info on these transmissions and kits to install them.

I recently used parts from Keisler Automotive to install a 5 Speed in a 'Vette and it was a bolt in.

Hope this helps

Yes, it can be. (I don't have details on the Mustang T5). You'll need an adapter plate, and a custom pilot bearing, and to drill/tap the trans mount bolt holes for the GM pattern, and modify your crossmember (move it rearward, cut off the tab, move to opposite side of the crossmember, then reverse the crossmember). See the details and pics here:

Oh yea, and a GM speedo adapter.
You'll also want the slip yoke to match the trans. Install it on your driveshaft, and have the driveshaft shortened accordingly (about 2").

Hope that helps a bit!
