: Bent Pinion Yoke?

How do I tell if my pinion yoke is bent? I can see the driveshaft wobbling about .1" at the rear and a small amount at the front. I can't tell if the yoke is wobbling but the dust shield does not wobble at all. There is also a rumble from that area. The pinion bearing has zero play, both u-joints are new, and the driveshaft is new and has been balenced twice.

thanks
Mike

Check the U-joints first.

Replacing the u-joints made no difference.

Thanks

You can use a mag-base dial indicator to check center of the yoke, measure it perpendicular to its axis. Make sure the new U-joints are centered in their respective yokes. There must be no movement sideways from the joint. Sometimes the yoke gets bent out of shape when installing the new U-joint, might have to look at them and check them for straightness.
