I just bought a '67 RS camaro that came with a 3 spd auto transmission. It seems a little worn out. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a good deal on a nice new automatic tranny. Do "powerglide" transmissions come cheap anywhere?

The only 3 spd automatic that originally came in a 67 was the TH400 (behind the 396). If that is what you have, I would have it rebuilt, or replace it with another TH400.
Used Powerglides have gotten a little pricey lately due to drag racers snapping them up. There are still millions of them around though.

I just pulled my Powerglide and all linkage, dipstick tube cross member from my '67 on Sunday. I am putting a TKO in it's place. It is a healthy, hard shifting tranny built for racing, but was pretty slow off the line with my 327 and 308 rear gears. About the most fun I had with it would be when somebody would pull up to race 'on the roll' somewhere between 30 and 55 mph. hehehehe. It always made me proud then...
