I am trying to upgrade to a posi and change gears. I have found a donor out of a '68 that may work.
Will a 12 bolt with multileaf out of a '68 fit my '69? Will it look "correct"?

thanks,

They should be identical. Both years had staggered shocks also. Should be a direct bolt-in and it will look correct.
Am I missing anything?

Nope, HwyStarJoe you are correct. The only difference will be the casting #s and ratio stamping! All else will bolt up as original.

Pull the cover and inspect it well before you commit. Good find. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I'll second that one. Great looking wrecking yard, where is it?

A '69 axle used the larger pinion flange with cap screws and straps; 67-68 used U-bolts. Since the '69 flange is longer 67-68 driveshafts don't directly interchange.

thanks for all the help. I decided to pass on the 68 12 bolt- too far away to ship. I have a 12 bolt with 3.07 open gears, but wanted to do the posi and 3.73 or 3.55. Anyway, maybe i will just have it put into my existing rear end.

Anyway the boneyard i believe is somewhere in AZ, not sure. I could spend the entire weekend at a place like that...
