I need help on what tranny I should run in my 67 with an LT1 motor. I have a brand new th-350 w/ a new 2200 stall and was thinking about putting a manual valve body in it. I also have the zf-6spd that came with the motor. All I need for that is a new clutch. The car is going to be driven to shows and to the track about once a week or every other week. Any in put would help.

What would you rather have... 3 gears graemlins/boring.gif
Or 6
Your track times will be more consistent with the 350, but you lose less HP through a manual trans. Personally, I like manual's for everything, I guess I just like to shift gears.

I'd go with the manual also. Lot more fun to drive.

Hi, im getting a 95 modell LT1 corvette engine, and a 1990 model corvette zf 6 speed, from what i can read here, the engine wont fit the gearbox, im from Norway, Europe, and the guy that went over to get me an LT1 with T56, put the wrong box on the boat, im getting a discount though, if i can use it at all, need som help here...
the input shaft of a ZF used behind a ZR-1 engine is approximately 7-1/2 inches long (1.18 inches longer than a ZF used behind an L98 or LT1 engine), so bellhousings must be appropriate for the original engine application. An LT1 starter will be required if you use an LT1 bellhousing.
