I have my 67 Camaro with a 373 rear gear and a 10 bolt rear end. I have ordered a Tremec TKO-600 transmission from Keisler Engineering and a set of Baer brakes front and rear. I plan on having a 500+hp engine installed so I don’t think the 10 bolt will survive this. Does anyone know of a package rear end that’s a direct bolt in for this? Must be a posi unit, and must be durable.
Thanks
Mike

You can have the rear end rebuilt with a new Eaton posi carrier and new Moser axles. It should live then.
Shoot Big Gear Head an email.

depends on what you want to spend, Moser will send you a 12 bolt gear how you want for about $2000, or you could swap in a 8.5" 10 bolt from early 70s Novas, that is direct bolt in, you could probably do that swap for around a grand - about $200 for gears, $300 for the posi, $250 to set it up, $100 to clean and powder coat, $150 for a new aluminum girdle.
For that matter, you could also go with a Ford 9 from Moser, they will also build it as a direct bolt in, I am guessing that will be around 2k also.

You are probably right about the 10 bolt not being able to handle that. The 12 bolt would be better, but the Nova 8.5 10 bolt could also be built to handle it. The 8.5 can be built with 30 spline axles to make it almost as strong as the 12 bolt.

I like to use (build) things that are too strong, then forget about them. I don't like to throw money at something that "may" be good enough. My motto is, "you can't go wrong when you do it right". Mosier 12 bolt for originality, or ford 9" for easy 3rd member removal. I built a ford 9" for my 65 Chevelle 2 years ago for about $600, did all the work myself, and I have a rearend that I won't have to worry about every time I tramp on the pedal. It may be something to think about before you spend your hard earned green. Good luck.

Or pick up a cheap, 8.75" MOPAR rearend that also has the 9"-like removable "pumpkin"!!
Darn good under-used rearend, imho!!!
Probably get a good used one cheaper then a 9"??? He, he -- car and all.....

I have similar problem with my 454 and a 10 bolt.
I share 19ynot52's philosophy. Beef it up and dont worry about it when you punch it. Sounds like Moser is the way to go. Is the 2K estimate a complete bolt-in. Do they make a bolt-in 12 bolt with disc brakes? I have manual drums and would love to upgrade it to power rear disc with the new 12 bolt all at one time.
Thanks for the help.

Personally I think no matter what it is,it will break over time when abused.
Been through about 10 12bolts in a truck, but I will admit it, I was very hard on the truck on and off road. How else could I explain 12 lug nuts sheared at a light ?
