Hi
I am about to order some Amsoil synthetic oil for my 12 bolt. Can someone tell me many quarts a 12 bolt rear holds.

A 12 bolt holds 4 pints of lube. The 10 bolt holds 3.5 pints. If you have a posi make sure that the lube is suitable for the posi.

Use the Series 2000 Amsoil 75-w90 and 2 quarts will pretty much fill it up.
I love it in mine, getting 21 mpg on the highway now. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Use the 75W90 Series 2000. 2 quarts will usually get it, but I recommend getting 3 in case you spill some or if 2 doesn't quite fill it up. It saves time by not having to order another quart later.

I just filled mine last week with Series 2000 Amsoil 75-w90 (thanks click!) and it took 2 quarts. I also put this in my M20. I like the fact that you dont need to add posi additive.

You dont use posi additive with the Series 2000 gear oil like jonesy said. Its built into the oil.
Other makes of gear lube require it but not the Amsoil Series 2000.

Amsoil has 2 different 75W90 oils. The regular 75W90 does not have the additive, but the 75W90 Series 2000 is ready to use in a limited slip differential without adding anything else to it.

I have a powertrax locker in my 12-bolt, running Amsoil. It took about 1 and 3/4 qts to fill it (I guess some volume is displaced due to the Powertrax locker being in there. I remember that my (stock) 12 bolts have always seemed to take exactly 2 qts. -Rob
