Regardless of the date code or other tranny casting numbers, would the following be considered an M20?:

Saginaw 4 speed, with a first gear ratio -2.54, second -1.80, third -1.33, fourth -1.00

M20 is a code that indicates a wide ratio 4 speed transmission, NOT a muncie transmission. A Saginaw M20 IS the correct trans for an L30 327-275. Read all about your car (and mine) here.
