I finished my 68 camaro this summer and have a dew parts left over to sell. Does anyone out there know what a 68 Aluminum Body Powerglide and torque converter is worth? It worked fine when I pulled it out. Thanks.

View Full Version : Powerglide Trans Value? CRANE'S68 Dec 12th, 04, 06:05 PM I finished my 68 camaro this summer and have a dew parts left over to sell. Does anyone out there know what a 68 Aluminum Body Powerglide and torque converter is worth? It worked fine when I pulled it out. Thanks. jccollins Dec 12th, 04, 06:11 PM i know that just the case is worth 100.00 to a drag racer What plantary gear is in it 1.76 or 1.82 the 1.76 is very good 1.82 is not because they break to easy . CRANE'S68 Dec 12th, 04, 06:56 PM Thanks for the reply. I don't know what the gear is. How can I tell? Everett#2390 Dec 13th, 04, 02:04 AM If it came from a V8, its a 1.76:1. L6's have a 1.82:1. Another tip is a V8 will have a silver input shaft. L6 will have black input shaft. Oldani Motorsports Dec 13th, 04, 02:52 AM Measure the input shaft tip to tip...you can pull it right out through the front pump with the trans still assembled...if it is a 1.82 it will be 12 5/8" and if from a 1.76 it will measure 12 7/8". John65nova Dec 21st, 04, 09:08 AM you can pull it right out through the front pump with the trans still assembled...If you pull it out, will it slide right back in??? Everett#2390 Dec 22nd, 04, 02:30 AM Yes, it will. Stand the trans up on its output shaft, either use the shaft to center the thrust washer, or use a long screwdriver to center the thrust washer, then insert the shaft. |
