Is there a difference in the routing of the cable between the two on a 69?

I currently have a 10" BH and my cable goes through the firewall next to the
fusebox. I'm going to install a 11" BH can I
use the same cable routing path or is clearance between the 11" BH and the
tunnel to tight to allow the cable to fit?

Weren't there 2 different exits through the firewall on 69 manual trans
cars?

The cable exit thru the firewall had to do with which 4 speed was in the car. Hi-po 4 speed (Muncie) was on right side of column. Saginaw was on the left side. Bellhousing doesn't matter.

Really?

This must reinforce my hunch that my car was orginally a 3 spd manual then? Not being an SS it would not of been a HD 3 spd. I would guess.

Agree? Disagree?

The saginaw four speed and three speed had speedometer drive on driver side of tranny, muncie has passenger side speedometer drive. For the saginaw transmissions the cable goes through the firewall on the drivers side of the steering column, while the muncie cable goes through at top left side of trans tunnel, just as firewall and trans tunnel meet, I believe there is a slight angled bump where it is supposed to have a hole for the cable to go through at an angle so the cable can wrap around and enter the trans at the passenger side.I figured this out AFTER I had already installed engine and trans, I had switched from three speed to muncie, so I just got a speedo cable extention and routed it along firewall, across top of bellhousing, around to speedometer drive on trans.
