hello hurst comp. plus question......Does anyone know where to get the rubber gromlets at the bottom of the shifter. They appear to be formed in the shifter at the factory. I am not talking about the metal/plastic linkage gromlets. The three gromlets i'm looking for are fixed before the linkage is installed.
thanks for the help again guys Dave

Dave, long time no talk to! I thought you moved away. Are you still in Hamilton?

I had my original shifter rebuilt by Hurst (Mr. Gasket), well worth the money. They included new clips and grommets. You can also download the parts lists for almost everytype of shifter they made in the "instruction sheets" section of http://www.mrgasket.com/hurstmain.html and open the PDF that is your model.

If you know of good speed shop around here (maybe the Langhorne shop), you should be able to have the correct parts from the sheet ordered. The Mr. Gasket site also has replacement parts you can order online.

hi kevin Still in Hamilton for now ,but who knows what tomorrrow holds. I talked to Mr. Gasket/Hurst about rebuilding and was told that the OEM (which I have)comp. plus has molded rubber gromlets. They do not have the gromlets or know where to locate them. The shifter worked great but the gromlets are shot. I am rebuilding my transmission and noticed the gromlet problem during trans removal.
thanks for the response and I will check the Mr. gasket web site

Dave, that's strange. I have an OEM one too and they gave me rubber grommets with tangs that fit into the slots of the shifter arms. What they gave me fit fine. You just had to tuck the grommets in and work them around until they get in.

The slots kinda look like this:
