i want to install a SHIFT IMPROVER KIT STAGE 3 in my th350 with an almost stock 350ci v8 carbed.

this car is just for fun, so no long cruises.

is this stage 3 good or is it to much for a stock th350?

will it damage the trans eventually?

Not sure what a Stage 3 kit is. If it is your basic shift improver kit for the valve body, it should work just fine.

Hi Robert,

What name brand of kit are you considering? I used a Transgo stage II kit in my recently installed Th350.

Although I haven't driven it much yet, I'm pleased so far. Nice hard shifts when you accelerate hard and positive shifts when you accelerate normally.

I had someone build my trans. so I didn't install the kit myself. Maybe the tranny Gurus here can comment, but from what I understand, the Transgo kit is a little more complicated than the typical B&M kit.

Also, all of the trans. shops I talked with recommended an external trans. cooler. So I installed one on my car.

Good luck with your upgrade.

Regards,
Mark P.

Robert,

One of the benefits of a shift kit (beside barking rubber on upshifts, which is good for the soul) is increased transmission life due to less slippage and heat build-up. I have never heard of a shift kit damaging a transmission, but if I were going to, this would be the place!

stage 3 is for extreme hard shifts for strip use

its a b&m trans pack or something like that.

if im pleased with it i will put a stage 2 kit in my other maro that i use for daily driving.

is it a good idea to install that kit while the trans is in the car?
