Is the Muncie 4spd a direct replacement for a Saginaw 4spd in a 68 Camaro??? If I currently have a 10 bolt and mono leaf springs. Can I buy multi leaf springs and a 12 bolt multi leave rear and just bolt everything in??? How can I tell if I have a 8.2 inch 10 bolt or a 8.5 inch 10 bolt?? Is the 7.5 inch 10 bolt only in the newer cars???
Thanks,
Matt

Can't help you with the trans swap question, but if your rear end is original to the car, it is an 8.2''. Doing a multileaf swap isn't too difficult. Also, if you can find a first gen Camaro 12 bolt, it should be a direct swap.

Pre 70 Muncie and Saginaw are a direct replacement except the shifter. I would change the mono-leafs they have some real bad wheel hop problems. The rear end is really controlled by what the use of the car is. The stock 10 bolt will live behind a small block street car for a long time.

Yes the rear is original. I have a nice built 350(about 400 HP). She is a street car (no slicks) only BFG Radial TA's P255's.
What do I have to do to switch from Mono leafs to multi leafs springs and keep the same rear? I heard the spring pads are different. Is that the only problem I will run into?

I've hit mid 1.6 60 ft times with mono leafs and slapper bars.
