ok i have a question
I have a 69 camaro with a console, and i was wondering if a Hurst Super Shifter will fit

I am unsure of what it was originally for
but i got it from a friend and he had it in all of his cars at one time or another 67 chevelle
70 chevelle 71z28

Before i start butchering my trans tunnel i wanna make sure this will work with my console

I am converting from auto to 4speed

The trans i have is a 65 Muncie M20
with studs for the shift forks....
If i have to use a 69 origial shifter and levers will they work on the studded shift forks or will they need to be replaced with the type that bolt on?

I don't know for sure, but my guess is that it will not. The hole in the console for the shifter is so small, I have to make sure my shifter is adjusted properly to keep from hitting. The bend in the handle of the shifter needs to be pretty specific to allow it to work without hitting. You could always try it and see, but I don't think it will work with the console in the original condition. My 2 cents worth.

Mark is right. It will not fit in your console. I have a Super Shifter III in the 75 and the Street Super Shifter in the 69. I really like the reverse lockout feature on the III. On the 69 I had to fabricate a tunnel extension to the left side to accomodate the shifter. The extension turned out great and the boot screwed on nice and level. I don't have a console in the car. I have Dakota Digital Gauges so, I didn't need the console gauges. The only shifter that will fit your console will be the competition Plus specifically for the first gen f-body. there is an S bend bracket that the stick mounts to.

Using the original console, as it is, it will not work. A friend of mine in high school went to a swap meet and bought one, made a couple of modifactions and it fit.He had to cut the drivers side down some, but he covered it with leather, for the shift boot and for about 50 bucks it looked pretty good.
