69 Big Block car with a Lakewood scattershield. It appears the stock pivot ball is not going to work. Has anyone had a simular problem and hopefully found a cure.

Not sure about your specific problem, but I'm assuming it has something to do with the installed height of the pivot. Lakewood makes this adjustable one to solve the problem.
