I know a guy that is getting rid of a rearend out of a mid-late 90's Astro Van. Could be a posi and I assume it is a 10-bolt but really don't know much about them. Would any of it(posi unit, brakes, axles.....) be good for anything. Are any of these parts interchangeable into a 2nd Gen Camaro 10-bolt. Just want to know if it is worth my time to open and check for a posi unit and to salvage and parts off of. Thx!

It's probably a very small 10 bolt. Not worth saving for your 2nd gen. If you had a 3rd gen or S-10, you might be able to use the posi.

Thx Spames! Didn't want to waste my time unless it was worth it!

most of them have the 7.5, but i think my mom's 1992 AWD model has an 8.5 in it, but i haven't looked at it in a while. i could be totally wrong here.

if you think it might be a posi ,you could pull it and sell it to a 3rd genner.

The Astro Van uses the 7.5 10 bolt. If it has a limited slip differential (posi) it will be the Governor Lock, not real desireable for a performance car. The rear end itself isn't good for much because of the huge amount of pinion offset.

I think I'll take a pass on it for now....plenty of things on my own to do list without getting into something like this. Thx for the info! smile.gif
