Thanks in advance. I am checking to see if my Muncie is original to my 1969 Z-28. It does have the matching vin number, but the casting number looks funny to me. It has a case number of 3088336 and also 3925660. I always thought the 660 is correct for a 69 Camaro. The 3925660 is in smaller casting numbers then I have seen on other Camaros. Does this sound correct ?? It also has a tag with the numbers 3946797. Does anyone know what the tag numbers mean. Thanks for any help, Jim

The numbers you posted are correct numbers for the main case and side cover. The 660 case was used from 1968-70. If the Vin derivative is stamped and it matches the car, you may have the orig trans. BUT there are alot of restamps out there. There should be a P number, something like P9P11A stamped by the VIN. What is it?

Hi Jonesy, thanks for your time and knowledge. I just got this car, and it has been some 17 years since I had a 69 Z-28. I just remember that all the 660 castings I have seen were bigger numbers. O.K we know it is a 09D car. The stamping on the trans is P9K09A and it has the vin stamped to match my car in smaller numbers. 403 bellhousing and I can see a part number 5771 on the reverse linkage. Also do you know the numbers for the engine frame mounts ?? I used to know them. Some say any will work, but there is part numbers for the 302, 350 and 396. Thanks for anymore help, Jim

350's and 302's used the same frame mounts. The numbers are 3945507 and 3945508 and are stamped right into the mounts. The 307 and 327 take different mounts and Big block take different mounts.

P9K09A = July 9, 1969 - M20
Looks like you have the correct bellhousing.
