I'm buying an 81 Z28 but the owner is keeping the original 4 speed Borg Warner. I can keep the shifter and linkage. Will the shifter and linkage work on a saginaw? And how old of a saginaw can I use ? besides the yolk/spline what else will I have to replace? (I also get the bell housing and clutch pack)

The shifter might work but the linkage won't. You need to change the clutch, the drive shaftyoke and lengthen the driveshaft. It would be a lot easier to find another ST-10.
