ok a friend has a 92 5.0 5 speed camero... the rear wheel bearing grease seals are leaking pretty bad... so to replace the seals do i have to cut off the bearings? i havent opened up the rearend so im not sure if they just slide on or if they need to be pressed on and off. on my RX-7 they slide on but have a locking coller that has to be cut off and pressed on... so im asking in advance. Thanks David

Pretty sure that that car has a c-clip type rear end. You have to remove the diff cover and differential pinion shaft. With the wheel and drum/disc removed push the axle in about 1/4" and the c-clip will fall into the diff, or can be removed with a magnet. Then the axle pulls right out and you can replace the seals.

Make sure that the bearings and axle surfaces aren't wasted. This is usually why the seals are leaking!
