A friend of mine gave me an early 8.2 posi out of his 69 Nova. It's in good shape and appears to be a 3 series. It is missing the cross shaft and cross shaft bolt. (He lost them.)
I'm needing these two pieces so I can put this posi in my '67 Camaro. Any one that has these two pieces and wants to part with them please e-mail me RGS4387@aol.com Thanks!

Dealer still has them.

I've checked several dealers and they tell me they can still get the one for the 8.5 10-bolt built after '72 but not the earlier 8.2 Chevrolet 10-bolt from 65-71.

I'm sure somebody thats upgraded has an 8.2 ready to be thrown in the dumpster, and could give you the parts. I'll keep my eyes open for them.

Moving this to the trans and rear end section. There's also a for sale and wanted classified section on this board.

Check it to see if it is a 2 or 3 series. The 2 series has the casting number ED32118 and the 3 series has the number EDB30116. If it is a 2 series you may not want to mess with it. Eaton sells a new posi for the 8.2 now. It is stronger than the old one and may be a better deal for you. Measure the diameter of the hole for the shaft and measure the distance across the case and let me know what you come up with. I have some shafts laying around that might work.

Thanks, I'll check tomorrow.
I have a complete Moser 12-bolt to go into this car but I'm not ready to start the resto yet. Putting in the 8.2 posi would allow me to take it to the track occasionally until I'm ready to start the complete overhaul probably winter 2005 or spring 2006.
I've got several projects in the works now and the Camaro is 3rd behind them.
Any help on the cross shaft and bolt would be appreciated.
