i have an '84 f-body that want to v8. i bought a 350 and th350 from a good friend. the best price on a tranny rebuild kit i have come across is $120. i also found a recently rebuilt th350 (less than 20,000 mi.) for $200. do i rebuild the one i have or spend the extra money and buy the finished one?

If it were me, I'd go for rebuilding it myself even if it it cost me $50 more than a rebuilt unit. I like to know whats going on with my stuff. However, I wouldn't recommend anyone to pass up a deal like that if they aren't into rebuilding automatics. I guess it all depends on how much faith you have in the other guy's work. I trust my own work much more than someone elses unless I'm dealing with something totally unfamiliar.
