I am wanting to put a t56 in my 68. I am wondering if the input shaft will work with my older style sbc also any other info that will help would be greatly appreciated. I am going to buy a t56 out of a camaro I believe to save on some cash so let me know any hints shifters etc.. thanks

I believe D&D Performance (a transmission shop) offers a direct bolt on 6 speed Viper tranny or the similar for your 68 camaro.
Do a google.com search for D&D transmissions.

The T56 to look for is the 93-97 Camaro/Firebird box. All parts will bolt up to your block, but it will require a special flywheel and LT1 style pull off clutch.
Also doing a search on this board isn't a bad idea, as I have hashed this subject out over 400 times.
