A friend of mine needs an axle under his 67 and has a 79 Camaro for parts.
Will a 79 Camaro axle fit under a 67?

It will fit...but...it is 1.5 - 2" wider and without the proper offset wheels the tires will stick out in the breeze. Better off looking for a 8.5" 10 bolt or a 12 bolt. Do a search and see what you find. http://www.camaros.net/cgi-bin/forum/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=search;search_forum=18

Does he just need one axle or the complete assembly? You can't put a '79 axle in a '67 housing. You can put a complete '79 rear end in a '67 if you move the spring mounts. They are about 3 inches too far apart for the '67. The rear end is also 1 inch wider over all. The drive shaft may need to be shortened and the u joint is different.

My bad. The rear is from a 68 z. It was the motor that was from a 79 z28. graemlins/clonk.gif

The '68 rear end will fit the'67 Camaro if the right springs are used. The '67 will have mono leaf springs and the '68 will probably have multi leaf springs.
