I was thinking about putting a LS1/4L60E in my 69 camaro. I think I have most of it figured out, but how would I change/modify the 4L60E to run my mechanical speedo?
I would like to use the LS1/4L60E, but I would also like to keep the "stock" dash and gauges, so how could that be done(as cheaply as possible)?

You have to retain the tailshaft. The speed generator has to be used with the computer on this engine in order to make the engine run. Bowtie Overdrives has a unit that uses the speed generator and also has provisions for the speedo cable. My Dad had a friend who had a Ford with the same problem. His attempts to have someone convert the original speedo to a digital mechanism on a 56 Ford were unsucessful and he ended up going with a Dakota Digital dash insert. The box from BTO seems to be the only option I know of. HTH,

This (https://web9.tdl.com/jags/Parts_4L60E_TailHousing.html) used with This (https://web9.tdl.com/jags/Parts_4L60005_ReluctorRing.html) is another option...
