I am about to install the engine and T56 in my 68 Camaro, and wanted to avoid doing the wiring for the transmission while lying under the car. Does anyone have a source for the connectors used on the T56 (mine is from an LS1 Camaro) for the speedometer signal, backup lights and reverse lockout or a suggestion for wiring them?
Also, does anyone have a T56 wiring diagram?
Thanks for your help.

The Chevy dealer will have them. There was a post on here last year that listed most or all of the part numbers. (I think it was this board)

As far as I understand it, the transmission itself has no electrical functions but the skip shift and the reverse lockout solenoids. It has a backup light switch and ths speed sensor, which is a permanent magnet tach.
All of them are individual components.

What do you want in the way of a wiring diagram? Do you just want something indentifying all of the solenoids/connections on the trans?

I received a wiring diagram from O1mrquick (Thanks).
I just haven't found a source for the connectors yet. I wanted to wire the reverse lockout to a shifter mounted switch (think Hurst line lock T handle), the speedomter to my Autometer electric speedometer and the backup lights to, well, my backup lights.
Nothing fancy, just a better integration of the trans into the car than it would be without all those connections.

If you find a source for the connectors please let us know. I was planning on trying to find one in a junk yard, and cutting off the connectors I need. Unfortunately they rarely make it to the junk yards. The useful parts (like wiring) are usually stripped and resold.

It was on www.thirdgen.org. (http://www.thirdgen.org.)
12101899 = Speedo (VSS) Connector
12085485 = back up lamp connector
12101857 = Reverse Lockout solenoid
these are all connectors with a bout 12" of wires.
