The one from the 70 rs/ss I was auctioning (it didnt sell..have a few people emailing but if it falls through..then I'll part it out.).. well I have the original tranny that goes with it (wanted to keep it)..68k miles on it..never been cracked open, none of the bolt-up holes have been broken off..

$600 with the shifter?

IN D&R automotive they sell for $900. and shifter is 199.00 in there.

You can usuallly get a rebuilt one from Tranny shops for $700-$800 (no shifter). Check Hemmings - http://www.hemmings.com/ - you can search for muncie and find lots of info.

ok, cool..I just didnt wanna sell it for $600 for the tranny and $60 for the shifter if it wasnt a fair price.
